For those of you that have heard of the band Mórga, who are slated to play the next Salon Concert, and were curious as to their sound, here is a great video sample. “Mórga play a ‘lancers’ jig learned from renowned Sligo flute player Peter Horan, followed by a fling and reel (‘Up the hill of down’ and ‘The Cavan reel’) learned from recordings of Flanagan Brothers, Irish-American stars of the 1920s & ’30s. The set finishes off with a Sean Ryan composition, ‘The Cedars of Lebanon’.”
