Salon Concerts Chicago is pleased to welcome back Eileen Gannon and Eimear Arkins for a Salon Concert on Saturday August 25, 2018 7:30pm at the Irish American Heritage Center!
Eileen Gannon and Eimear Arkins have been lighting up the Irish music scene in St. Louis for the past several years. Eileen, a St. Louis native, is one of the top Irish harp players in the world. She has won numerous accolades including the highly coveted Senior Harp title at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann (World Irish Music Championships). She has a bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from St. Louis University and a master’s degree in Ethnomusicology from University of Limerick. In summer 2017, Eileen launched her debut solo CD, The Glory Days Are Over. http://www.eileengannon.com
Eimear is an award-winning singer and fiddle player from County Clare with eleven solo Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann titles to her credit. She has performed throughout the US and Ireland with acclaimed bands like Cherish The Ladies, Téada, The Paul Brock Band, Brú Ború and The Nashville Celts. She has toured extensively with Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann in Ireland, Britain, North America and Canada. Join us in the Fifth Province at the Irish American Heritage Center for a special appearance by Eimear and Conor Arkins with Eileen Gannon, Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 8pm. Free. Presented by the Fifth Province Pub and Salon Concerts Chicago.

Eimear Arkins is an award winning singer and fiddle player from County Clare, holds no less than 11 All-Ireland titles across a variety of competition categories and has toured extensively throughout Europe, Canada, and North America with a number of bands, including Cherish the Ladies. In 2015, both Eimear and Eileen represented Ireland at World Expo in Milan, Italy.

Conor Arkins is an accomplished piano, fiddle, flute, and saxophone player. He is a member if the National Folk Orchestra of Ireland and recently completed a tour of Ireland and Great Britain with the orchestra’s production of Macalla 1916. Conor has also toured Europe and the US and in 2015 accompanied the President of Ireland at the World Expo in Milan.

Eileen Gannon, a St. Louis native, is one of the top Irish harp players in the world. She has won numerous accolades, including the highly coveted Senior Harp title at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. Eileen has toured and performed all over the world and is a regular tutor at international festivals like the Catskills Irish Arts Week.
