Traditional Music fans won’t want to miss the sensational Manx band, Barrule at the Irish American Heritage Center Sunday, September 18 in the Fifth Province Lounge.
Barrule are a trio that plays mostly Manx (as in from the Isle of Man) traditional music and they set Milwaukee Irish Fest 2016 abuzz with their arrangements, skillful performances, and powerful stage presence. Their performances included a familiar mix of jigs, polkas, reels, songs in Manx Gaelic and English, and modern compositions. The melodies are undeniably Gaelic in nature and fans of Scottish and Irish traditional music will find much to enjoy.
Their two studio recordings have received rave reviews and have earned them featured performance spots in prestigious international music festivals like the Edinburgh Fringe, Festival Interceltique de L’Orient in Brittany, The National Celtic Festival in Melbourne, Australia, and Celtic Colours, a highly regarded festival in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
